Awake

A blue tit and a bohemian waxwing in the garden.
These guys were not the ones keeping me awake, though.

I couldn't go to bed until I was half way making this scarf. The next day I ran out of yarn. Drove to the shops to get another ball. None of them had this type (of course not) and the shop where I had bought it before had closed just an hour ago..
So I decided to use a different dye which I had for the other half.
I was nearly finished when I noticed I had done all the decreasings wrong. So I had to unravel the day's work, and again it was night time. But I couldn't stop until I'd finished the whole thing. It always pays off to unravel and do things over when something goes wrong. At least if you are one of the perfectionists like I am. Fortunately it's an easy pattern and knits fast.

Basic triangle scarf

Extreme golf

I can't get enough of this winter! Today it was a bit milder than the whole week. Gorgeous day. It was sunny in the morning, but got cloudy when we reached the golf course on the frozen sea. On the final fairway the sun came out again.

At night

No Aurora here, just freezing -30°C and starry night.
Hopefully someone was able to catch the Northern Lights last night.

It's too cold to play football

Gorgeous, yet freezing day.
Pictures waiting to be taken all the way from home...

It had to happen

First sock is done, the other one in progress.
Two weeks ago I would have not believed if you'd told me I'd knit socks out of thin yarn. Never say never. It's been fun knitting socks after so many years! And this yarn (Punta yarn meri sock) has such a nice feel to it that it's a pleasure to knit.

And there's more to come on the sock front..

It was about to happen sooner or later - and in my case: sooner.
Noro yarns.
I couldn't resist any longer. Gotta love the colours!

No time to blog more.. Got some knitting to do!
